Schmutzerland adds vintage “Old Map” Jewelry
to their Geography Collection in time for their New York International Gift Fair (NYIFG) debut

“Satisfy Your Inner Tchotchke,”
The image based jewelry specialists will feature a series of nostalgic map designs, spotlighting some of the most popular destinations in the U.S., at booth 35006 at the New York International Gift Fair August 13-17 on Pier 92

Nutley, NJ, July, 2011 – Schmutzerland, the image based jewelry specialists, has announced that for their New York International Gift Fair (NYIGF) debut, as part of New York’s Newest on Pier 92, they will be showing a series of vintage “Old Map” designs.

Available in pendant necklaces, cocktail and petite ring sizes, earrings and brooches, retailers can visit Schmutzerland at booth 35006 on Pier 92 August 13th – 17th, as they make their first appearance as part of New York’s newest, in the bi-annual New York Internatioanal Gift Fair. On view, will be these imaginative pieces, that are reminiscent of Flea Market finds, along with the entire Schmutzerland line. If you can’t make it to New York these pieces can be seen on the Schmutzerland website at http://www.schmutzerland.com in the Geography Collection.

“As first time participants in the New York International Gift Fair, we are very excited to be able to offer this series of nostalgic map images in our jewelry.” Remarked Dave Rubin, partner and Marketing Director for Schmutzerland. “With so many people getting their own personal design style from the early to mid 20th century, these pieces add the perfect touch.”

Harkening back to a simpler time before the invent of the inter-state highway system, the map designs feature popular desination cities such as Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, Oregon and San Francisco.

The Schmutzerland line also features images from Victorian engravings, famous faces, animals, geography and geometry to nostalgic themes, so there seems to be a little something for everyone’s liking. The whimsical nature of Schmutzerland’s designs promotes its appeal to a broad spectrum of clientele, who find they are great pieces to wear, whether they are dressing up or dressing down.

Tchotch•ke: noun informal 1. A small object that is decorative rather than strictly functional; a trinket 2. A pretty girl (American Oxford Dictionary)
